In one of His profoundly meaningful satsangs, Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb explained that Guru Purnima is a day that elevates our life and fills it with greatness. It is the sacred day on which the magnetic pull of the Guru’s grace and benevolence draws us towards our Satguru and unites us with Him.

On this day, every being feels a heightened longing to reach their Satguru or the Supreme. Every heart is filled with the intense desire, enthusiasm, and joy of meeting the Satguru. Guru Purnima is truly a day of divine attraction.

On this holy day, all beings feel drawn towards the Lord because a deep yearning arises within everyone to return to their true eternal home. The Supreme too sends signs to His children, inviting them lovingly towards Himself.

Saijan explained that this is the special day when Maharishi Ved Vyas Ji gifted the world an infinite ocean of knowledge—the four Vedas, the Shastras, the eighteen Puranas, and a vast treasure explaining what was, what should be, and what is to come.

The world is full of good and bad, truth and falsehood, right and wrong, and countless dualities—but Ved Vyas Ji gave humanity the wisdom of goodness, truth, and the right path.

From the very moment of his birth, Ved Vyas Ji became a source of divine knowledge for the world. His mother came from a family of fishermen, while his father was a great sage. It is said that although his mother always carried the natural smell of fish, the moment Ved Vyas Ji was born, that smell transformed into fragrance and never returned.

Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb explained that in the same way, we too can transform the foulness of our karmas and our worldly lives into fragrance by taking refuge in the Satguru. The Guru’s shelter turns all the impurities of our life into purity and fragrance.
Thus, Guru Purnima is a day to purify and fragrance our own being.

On the day of Purnima, the moon descends very close to the Earth, and its magnetic rays attract the ocean. Under the influence of the moonlight, high tides arise, filling the waves with joy, energy, and enthusiasm. The waves rise again and again towards the moon.

A tide forms on every full moon, but on Guru Purnima the moon comes thousands of miles closer, causing the ocean to surge with extraordinary force. The water longs to rise higher in delight.

From this natural phenomenon, we receive a divine message:
Guru Purnima is a sacred day of complete surrender at the feet of one’s Guru.
Through selfless faith and unwavering devotion, we can attain the Satguru and the Supreme, and make our birth meaningful.

It is not only the ocean, all of nature, animals, birds, humans, trees, and plants, strives to rise higher on this day. Everyone progresses according to their nature: the good become better, and those inclined towards negativity move further into it.

Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb taught that we must rise towards greatness through goodness and humanity. But this is only possible when someone guides us, shows us the right direction, gives us the right understanding, and leads us to the true destination.

On this Guru Purnima, we must stand with such a divine being, the Satguru, who can lift us from the earthly plane to the heights of the Divine and unite us with the Supreme.
Only the Satguru has the power to help us cross the ocean of worldly existence, attain the Lord, and make our life successful.

It is only in the refuge of the Satguru that we attain liberation. The Guru alone takes us from darkness to Light. We do not know who we are, where we have come from, or where we will go. We often wonder why we were born.
Only the Satguru gives us the true answer and leads us to our real destination.

The one who guides us to the destination must be someone who knows the path and the destination—one who is All-Knowing. Parents give us birth on this Earth and teach us how to live, but the Guru lifts us from the earthly plane to the divine heights and takes us to our spiritual destination.

The Guru understands every state of His disciple, He knows their behavior, their tendencies, and their intentions. We go to the Guru carrying three personalities: the one we think we are, the one we show, and the one we truly are.
The Guru recognizes all three and guides us to the true path.

The Guru corrects us and refines us. The Guru speaks less and listens more. We speak more and listen less. The Guru acts upon every word He says; we, on the other hand, forget our own words.

No power is equal to the power of the Guru. In His presence, the mind becomes peaceful and all questions, worries, and anxieties disappear. We even forget what we came to say.

The Guru plays the role of a judge for Himself and an advocate for others. We do the opposite, we become advocates for ourselves and judges for others.

Saijan narrated that when Shahanshah Satguru Sai Satramdas Saheb performed devotional singing in Machhko, His bhakti continued uninterrupted for forty hours. The listeners did not get up even for a moment, as they wanted to absorb every divine word.
Such was the magnetic power and magnificent presence of Shahanshah Satguru.

In the refuge of such a Guru, we can cross the worldly ocean and attain liberation.
This is why we receive the Beej mantra from the Guru.

A beej (seed)is small, yet within it lies the potential for countless trees, branches, leaves, flowers, fruits, and endless life. Some seeds perish and some survive, those protected by the gardener flourish.

Similarly, we take birth through countless lives, some rise through good deeds, some waste their life through wrongdoing, and some leave the world exactly as they came.

But the seed that reaches the gardener is the one that is protected.
The Satguru is our gardener, He protects us from falling apart, nourishes us, strengthens us, and then quietly steps aside.

We are extremely fortunate that in this lifetime we received the refuge of the Satguru. By His grace, we have been saved from downfall, and our life has been uplifted.

Refuge means following the Guru’s messages, teachings, instructions, and way of living, with complete faith, without questioning, and shaping ourselves according to His guidance, because only He knows what is best for us.

Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb explained that when pieces of bamboo are rubbed together, they produce a harsh sound and eventually burn on the funeral pyre. But if the same bamboo is shaped into a flute, it produces a melodious music that delights the heart.

The bamboo has potential, but without becoming a flute, it has no significance.
The flute is connected to the heart and responds to the breath of the divine player.

Similarly, we should not remain like ordinary pieces of bamboo that burn meaninglessly. In the refuge of the Satguru, we must become flutes that produce sweetness and purity.
Without the Guru, we are like raw wood—entangled in trivial matters. It is the Guru’s refuge that gives us form, direction, and significance.

The Satguru shapes us into a mighty, strong tree that inspires others.

In the end, when we walk on the right path while remaining in the refuge of the Satguru, we reach the true destination of our life, rise to divine heights, and unite with our Lord.

Guru Purnima is a day to shape ourselves.
We become exactly what we choose to become. If we choose good deeds, we become better; if we choose wrongdoing, negativity increases.
Therefore, with full awareness, we must resolve to choose goodness.

Sacho Satram.
