Verbatim Transcript of Sai Sadhram Saheb’s Satsang on the Benefits of Dhyan (Meditation)

Now, whatever we are doing for Dhyan,we are indeed doing it, but…

What will we gain?

What are its benefits?

We all believe in this truth: As are the karmas, so will be the fruits.

In reality, meditation is the seed of our karmas.

Through it, first of all, pure thoughts will arise within us.

As our thoughts are, so will our karmas be.

So when we meditate, the very first change will be that our thoughts will become pure, our ideas will become pure. And as soon as our thoughts and ideas become pure, the very first fruit will be that we will experience peace, we will experience calmness.

All the restlessness within us, the inner heaviness, will finish.

We will become peaceful in mind, and we will feel deep tranquility.

And when we ourselves become peaceful, then improvement in our life will begin on its own.

Then, when we remain awake, we will be in peace; and when we sleep, we will also sleep peacefully, taking a sound rest. When our thoughts, our mind, and our life become filled with peace, then our negative thoughts will end, good thoughts will arise, and then… as a saying goes:

“As are a person’s thoughts, so are his actions. As are his actions, so he himself becomes. And as he becomes, so are the fruits he receives.”

So the same will unfold for us.

First of all, thoughts will become good. As thoughts improve, ideas improve, naturally actions too will become good.

And as soon as our karmas become good, when we keep doing good, the fruit of good karmas is always happiness. So when we perform good deeds, the fruit will be that in this world, we will experience happiness. Our life in this world will become better. We will receive respect, honor, dignity, happiness, prosperity, wealth, and many such blessings as the fruit of it.

From Dhyan, the good karmas we do will give us good fruits here in this world. And with Dhyan, when we also practice Naam Simran, then our inner being will become so radiant, so elevated, so refined, so illuminated, so full of divine light, that we will purify ourselves and seat the Satguru, the Lord, the Supreme within our own heart.

Then, in our life, through good deeds, we will receive all the happiness of this world. And along with it, through Naam and Dhyan, the doors of the hereafter will also open for us.

Both our lok (this world) and parlok (the next world) will be uplifted.

Here we will live in happiness, and there too we will live in happiness.

Here we will attain peace, and there we will attain that very Lord.

And we will beautify and uplift both worlds, and finally reach that Supreme Master.

And we will attain eternal happiness.

This is what will make us the highest and most blessed.

Here, happiness; there, happiness.
Here, honor; there, the Lord’s grace and mercy.

In both realms, our existence will be uplifted.

These are the great benefits of Dhyan—that through it, both worlds, both realms, are beautified and uplifted.

And our prayer to the Supreme Master is only this: that we may become such that we uplift both worlds, and receive His grace and His mercy.
