Verbatim Transcript of Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb’s Satsang on Dhyan (Meditation)

Where should we do meditation?
In reality, meditation can be done anywhere, but it should always be done at one fixed place.

Try that when we are at home, we choose one place. If there is a temple in the house, then sit there for meditation. If there is no temple, then fix any place for yourself.

Doing meditation at one fixed place means that just as every living being, every human being has their own destiny, their own fate, in the same way, every place also has its own destiny.

For example, sometimes when we buy a house, a property, or a shop, our fortune starts opening up, our fate begins to rise, and everything comes so smoothly that we do not even realize it.

And sometimes, when we buy a house, a property, or a place, then even the little progress we had made earlier begins to fall behind. This is because, just as every human being, every living being has their own destiny, their own fate, and destiny is always the result of karmas. If our deeds are good, then as a result, our destiny will rise. If we do wrong deeds, then as a result, we will receive sorrow.

In the same way, when we do more meditation, Simran, and truthful deeds at one particular place, the destiny of that place also begins to rise. And where wrong deeds are done, that place also becomes like that.

That is why, when in our home, we sit every day in the same place to do meditation, Simran, and Jap, then as our inside becomes pure, that place also becomes pure, sacred, and holy. And as we take pure breaths there, inhale and exhale pure breaths, that purity, that holiness, that peace will dissolve into the atmosphere of that place, into the air of that environment.

And the atmosphere, the environment of that place will also become completely calm, pure, and peaceful.

When in our home, we sit in one place for meditation, then that place itself will also become blessed, fortunate. Sitting there, as we breathe, peace and calm will spread there. Then our home will become a center of peace, calmness, happiness, and prosperity. That is why, when we sit every day at one fixed place, the circle of the aura that is created from that center will go on expanding, and gradually our entire home will become a center of happiness, prosperity, love, and affection.

It should not happen that sometimes we sit here, sometimes there, sometimes somewhere else… No…

When we are at home, we should sit at one fixed place. If we are outside somewhere else, then we can sit anywhere for meditation. And if sometimes we get an opportunity, then all of us who are at home, the members of the family, should try to sit together. Then we will all become pure and holy, and we will fill our home with good fortune.

And whenever possible, we should also sit in the temple, at the Dham, and meditate with the whole sangat. When we sit with everyone, then the pure thoughts of everyone, the collective purity, will purify all of us. And the blessings, the purity, the grace of that temple will enter our lives. And taking that, when we return home, we will also purify and sanctify our home.

That is why, when we are at home, or in the city, we should sit and meditate properly. But sometimes there are situations—like when we are travelling, or when our health is not good, or when we do not get a proper environment—such situations come where we are not able to meditate in the regular way. In such times, whether our eyes are open or closed, whether we are sitting or lying down, whether we are on a chair or on a sofa, in whatever way we are—at that moment if we remember a friend, a companion, or a relative, their face comes before us.

In the same way, with open eyes, we should remember that True Sai, remember our Satguru. And within, as we are breathing in, we should keep doing Simran and Dhyan with that breath. Then we will keep rising and keep progressing.

Sometimes while travelling, we cannot close our eyes because there is luggage, or other things, and we have to pay attention to everything. No problem—whatever the situation, we should do accordingly. But when at home, we must meditate at one fixed place.

Whenever we get an opportunity, we should meditate together, we should sit in the temple and meditate, and bring back those blessings. But if we are outside, then whether with eyes open, or sitting, or lying, in whatever way, meditate. It does not matter how, but we must meditate. Because this is such a practice, such an atmosphere, that not only gives us all the happiness of this world but also connects us to the Lord. It improves both this life and the life beyond.

That is why, meditation must never be left. It is essential to do it daily. We should keep doing it, and keep praying to the Lord. He will shower mercy, He will shower grace, and we will continue to receive His blessings.

And as a result of this, the blessings we receive will give us happiness both here and in the hereafter.
