Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb, in one of His divine Satsangs, explained that during the sacred observance of SSD Chaliha Saheb, special attention is given to what we eat and drink, how we sit, speak, and behave, because each of these becomes a source of inspiration for improving our life. When followed sincerely, these disciplines fill our life with peace, harmony, love, and contentment.

Chaliha Saheb is a time for the purification of both body and mind , for it is rightly said, “As is the food, so becomes the mind.” During this period, we consume pure food and keep our mind devoted to the Satguru, through worship, prayer, discipline, meditation, remembrance (Simran), and surrender at His Holy Feet.

The sacred routine followed during Chaliha Saheb sanctifies us so deeply that we begin to feel truly worthy of coming closer to our beloved Satguru. Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb lovingly shared that by aligning ourselves with this pure way of living during Chaliha Saheb, we make ourselves inwardly ready to celebrate the divine occasion of Guru Purnima , with a clean heart and a sacred state of mind.

And once we cultivate such a pure way of life, we must strive to carry it forward beyond Chaliha as well, so that we may continue to walk on the path that leads us to our ultimate destination at the Lotus Feet of our Satguru. Guru Purnima holds immense importance because it brings us the light of true knowledge.

We are unaware of how many different forms or lives we have passed through, what kind of karma, good or bad, we have accumulated in past births, and with what kind of destiny, virtues, or challenges we have taken birth in this lifetime. We don’t know where we came from or where we are going.

Even if we do not know where we have come from, it is essential to know where we are headed. And that is why we focus our heart and mind on the Lotus Feet of our Satguru, for in the radiance of His Feet, we no longer wander aimlessly.

The word “Guru” itself holds deep meaning: “Gu” means darkness and “Ru” means light. The Guru is the One who leads us from the darkness of ignorance into the light of truth. While our origin may remain unknown, our destination becomes clear through the grace of the Guru. His presence guides us, anchors us, and ensures that we never lose our way.

The festival of Guru Purnima lifts us toward great spiritual heights. Just as the ocean tides rise under the gravitational pull of the moon, our inner being too is elevated through the magnetic force of the Guru’s blessings. On this sacred day, the divine presence of the Guru stirs the still waters of our soul, awakening clarity, devotion, and direction. As the moon silently lifts the ocean, the Guru’s grace silently lifts us, toward truth, light, and higher consciousness.

Throughout the forty days of Chaliha Saheb, we walk the path of purity and self-discipline. And on the holy day of Guru Purnima, with a purified heart, a sacred mind, noble thoughts and understanding, through devotion, remembrance, and meditation, we sit at the Holy Feet of our Satguru, making ourselves worthy of His grace and blessings.

By journeying through these forty days with sincerity, we become fit to sit before our Satguru on Guru Purnima — and receive His compassion, blessings, and divine mercy.

Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb beautifully explained that on the divine morning of Guru Purnima, during the sacred hours of Amrit Vela, all of us should sit with a sincere heart and pure mind in deep meditation on our Satguru, so that the light of His grace may illuminate our life, and guide us always.
