During an enlightening Satsang, Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram saheb eloquently recalled the sangat of Bhai Ganesa.
He mentioned that someone requested Bhai Ganesa’s brothers to transfer the land their father had pledged to transfer to him.
The siblings secretly instructed Ganesa to deceive the man by denying any knowledge of the deal. When Ganesa refused, they attempted to entice him with an offer of half the land if he sided with them against the man claiming their father’s promised land.
Ganesa, a man of unwavering principles, was a devotee of Shahanshah Satguru Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb. He believed in speaking the truth, inspired by the teachings of Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb, who had bestowed upon him abundant happiness and fulfilled his every desire. Therefore, he questioned why he should compromise his integrity for the sake of a single piece of land.
Ganesa’s brother proposed giving him the entire land to ensure their family’s property remained intact. Yet again, Ganesa declined, reminding his brothers that he had witnessed his father’s commitment to transfer the land to the man now seeking its transfer from his siblings. He questioned how he could betray his conscience and commit a sin by lying.
Saijan elucidated that when we are bestowed with the blessings of our Satguru, we discard our negative actions, falsehoods, misdeeds, harmful habits, anger, and envy. Instead, we cultivate qualities such as selfless service, love, kindness, moral values, cultural traditions, and good manners. By avoiding hurting others, causing sadness, and endeavouring to spread love, happiness, and kindness, we effectively rid ourselves of all the negativity and uphold our integrity, morality, and goodness. In doing so, we continuously receive the blessings of our Satguru.
Bhai Ganesa questioned why he would forsake his goodness and the abundant blessings bestowed upon him by his Satguru for the sake of a piece of land.
Saijan emphasised that by relinquishing negative traits and embracing virtuous habits, we receive blessings from our Satguru, which propel our progress and infuse our lives with happiness.
He remarked that humans often err by clinging to bad habits while neglecting their inherent goodness. Mistakes are made when we forsake love and kindness in favour of hatred and hostility, or when we abandon decency for rudeness and selfishness. Losing sight of our character and behaviour, we become ensnared by tempting distractions, transforming from good individuals to bad ones. Additionally, we overlook consuming nourishing foods, opting instead for unhealthy alternatives.
It’s undeniable that the stronger our attraction to something, the nearer we draw to it. When we encounter difficulties, we often fail to recognize that they are the consequences of our actions. We cannot evade the outcomes of our poor behaviour. Just as we cannot expect to harvest mangoes when we plant acacia seeds, or bananas when we sow chillies, we inevitably reap what we sow.
When we seek the refuge of Parmatma, we must always keep in mind the blessings, love, care, protection, and favours bestowed upon us. By promptly recalling and appreciating our blessings, our shortcomings and faults will naturally begin to diminish, leading to a life filled with profound happiness and magnificence.
Saijan mentioned that during the propitious Green Thursday, we visit the temple to seek the blessings of our Satguru, setting aside our concerns to engage in the sacred practice of chanting the Naam.
We need not endure the flames of worry; instead, we should engage in contemplation to address the root of our concerns through meditation.
We must embrace a virtuous journey and forsake the path of immorality. We need to cultivate positive thinking and refrain from cluttering our minds with negative thoughts.
We must abandon anger, jealousy, and deceit, choosing instead to lead a life of love and honesty. This path will bring honour to our lives.
If we concentrate on the beauty of flowers, the thorns on their branches won’t cause us harm. Even if we are pricked by the thorns, the joy of admiring the flowers’ beauty will alleviate the discomfort.
If our faith in our Satguru and Parmatma is unwavering, they will shelter us like a flower, ensuring that all worldly thorns are permanently removed from our lives.
