In one of his inspiring satsangs, Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb beautifully emphasised the importance of self-care and highlighted the need to strengthen our inner self through self-discipline.
Saijan explained that,Just as we nurture a small sapling by watering it regularly, protecting it from pests, ensuring that no animal or bird harms it, and safeguarding it with fencing, over time, as the sapling grows into a tree, it no longer needs such protection.
The tree becomes so strong and sturdy that no pests or animals can harm it.
In turn, that very tree provides shade, fruits, and many other benefits to everyone.
If we do not take care of our sapling and fail to protect it, it will not grow. Instead, the insects, birds, goats, and other animals around will eat it.
This is what is referred to as ‘letting your own goat eat your own sapling.
Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb emphasized the significance of inwardly chanting Naam.
Saijan explained that if we, as human beings, develop an interest in Naam, chanting, meditation, and Simran from the very beginning and maintain self-discipline, we can make ourselves immensely strong both mentally and physically.
We should never break our discipline due to any other attraction.
Regular chanting of Naam, meditation, and Simran truly provide mental and physical awareness and wisdom to a person. Every day, at a set time according to our routine, we must dedicate ourselves to Naam, meditation, and Simran to awaken our inner strength, strengthen ourselves mentally and physically, and cultivate wisdom.
Our self-discipline should be such that no obstacle can interfere with our routine. At the designated time, we must focus on Naam, meditation, seva, and Simran. If someone asks us to do another task at that time, especially one that can be done later, We should remain cautious and not break our set resolution.
Many times, we ourselves look for excuses to avoid Naam, meditation, and Simran, and instead, we engage in other activities such as talking to someone, listening to others, or indulging in other insignificant tasks.
We become very weak when we fail to firmly adhere to our discipline. As a result, we lose direction in life, waste it, and fail to attain our true potential and original status.
Just like a plant that lacks fencing for protection and becomes vulnerable to being eaten by insects, pests, goats, or other animals, or a plant that fails to receive proper nourishment and cannot grow into a tree to provide shade, fruits, or other benefits, we too, as humans, risk a similar fate. If we do not embrace meditation, Simran, and chanting with sincerity and discipline early in life and fail to make a determined effort to strengthen ourselves, we will find ourselves aimlessly drifting through life.
We will remain dependent on others and fail to fulfill the purpose of elevating ourselves from being human to becoming great. Instead of rising from human to divine, we risk degrading ourselves from human to a lower state.
We must give utmost priority to our discipline, meditation, Simran, and seva.
If from the very beginning we keep ourselves away from harmful influences and negative things that hinder our growth and strength, we will become as strong as a tree.
Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb explained that just as a sapling is safeguarded from goats and pests to ensure its growth, it eventually grows into a tree so strong that not only goats, but even horses, elephants, and other powerful animals can be tied to it without causing any harm. Similarly, we too can become equally strong and wise.
Once we gain spiritual strength through Naam, Jaap, meditation, and Simran, no one will be able to mislead or divert us from our path, allowing us to reach the highest levels of Divinity.
