In one of his enlightening satsangs, Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb beautifully explained the distinction between living a life of comfort and living a life of wisdom. He shared a profound story from the life of Sant Sai Kanwaram Saheb to illustrate this wisdom.

Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb narrated that a lady once offered a beautiful cap to Sant Sai Kanwaram Saheb as a gesture of devotion during a bhakti program. While Kanwaram Saheb accepted the cap for his comfort, he later fell ill. Shahanshah Sai Satramdas Saheb then guided him, explaining that accepting anything for personal use from the offerings of devotees was unwise when performing bhakti in the name of the Almighty. This realization marked a turning point in Sant Sai Kanwaram Saheb’s life.
From that moment, Sant Sai Kanwaram Saheb chose to live wisely, prioritizing wisdom over comfort. Enlightened by Shahanshah Sai Satramdas Saheb’s teachings, Kanwaram Saheb renounced personal comforts and dedicated himself wholly to a life of wisdom and service. He refused to accept personal gifts or valuables and instead ensured all offerings were used for the greater good.

Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb emphasized that had Sant Sai Kanwaram Saheb chosen a life of comfort over wisdom, he would not have achieved the revered heights that continue to inspire people worldwide. It was his unwavering commitment to wisdom that glorified his name and ensured he lived on in the hearts of people across generations.

Sant Sai Kanwaram Saheb’s life is a testament to the transformative power of wisdom. From a humble background, where he did not even have food to eat, he progressed to a life of abundance and service, eventually feeding lakhs of people. By choosing wisdom, he not only provided for his own needs but also became a source of sustenance and inspiration for countless others, earning reverence and respect from people around the world.

Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Saheb concluded with a powerful message that choosing comfort over wisdom leads to ultimate loss, while a life guided by wisdom brings true peace, happiness, and contentment. It is through wisdom that we rise to great heights and find fulfilment in life.
