In a revealing Satsang led by Hazir Swaroop Sai Sadhram Sahib, Saijan elaborated on the distinction between the sacred Naam of the Satguru and the name bestowed upon us by our elders upon birth.

Each of us bears a unique name and we are recognised by it.
We hold the belief that our identity is defined by the names given to us by others.
We recognise ourselves through our name when prompted by someone, when addressed, or when introducing ourselves to others.
A carefully chosen and significant name is bestowed upon us, with the expectation that we conduct ourselves and live in accordance with it.
Saijan remarked that whether we are able to align with the characteristics associated with our name is a separate consideration altogether.
Indeed, the name bestowed upon us by our elders holds significant meaning. The name we are known by carries inherent value, meaning, or benefits.
We are anticipated to adhere to the significance of our name in our way of life.

It’s commonly expressed that we uphold the honour and value of our name by meeting the expectations associated with it. However, if we fail to preserve our integrity, we’re encouraged not to tarnish our esteemed reputation, but rather to demonstrate that we have lived up to the standards expected of us.

These concepts of good and bad keep our minds occupied with such thoughts.
However, when we contemplate the sacred NAAM of Parmatma, Ishwar, Prabhu, and our revered Satguru, we find it beyond comparison; it stands as a purely divine, godly, and virtuous entity.

It is solely NAAM, and nothing else is associated with it.

It is pristine, invaluable, esteemed, and holds the utmost worth.

No matter how we address it, it remains purely NAAM, devoid of any connection with other entities.

The name given to us by our parents carries meaning that reflects our character and personality, serving as a descriptive adjective for our lives. However, the Satguru Naam stands apart as solely a Pious Naam, free from any associations or attachments.

It is exclusively a Naam, characterised by its sanctity, purity, and immense reverence. The Pious Naam is devoid of any specific attribute or quality because it transcends human understanding—it is Divine, infinite, boundless, immeasurable, vast, and all-encompassing, encompassing everything universally.
