Meditation is a practice that aligns our breaths with the life force, fostering a transformative connection between mind and body.
In one of his enlightening Satsangs on ‘SACHO DHYAN’ (Process of meditation), Hazir Swaroop Sant Sai Sadhram Saheb eloquently clarifies the importance, value, and the genuine process of practicing meditation. To gain a comprehensive understanding, please read the translated English version of Saijan’s message on Meditation (Dhyan).

Part 1
WHAT IS MEDITATION?

Meditation can be seamlessly integrated into everyday tasks, allowing for a continuous practice amidst one’s daily activities.
Meditation illuminates the path guiding us towards unity with the beloved Lord.
First and foremost, it is essential to comprehend the essence of meditation.
Meditation, in essence, is a journey of self-understanding, self-examination, and introspection. It serves as a process to analyse and test our own beliefs, challenging the common assumption that we are invariably correct in our perspectives.

Our inherent tendency is to perceive our actions as right while labeling others as wrong. We often hold the belief that our behavior is proper, and we sense a lack of tolerance from those around us.Despite our positive thoughts about others, there is a prevailing belief that they do not harbor similar positive sentiments towards us.
We tend to attribute every good deed to ourselves, and when it comes to wrongdoing, we often point fingers at others. During meditation, we come to a realisation and understanding of our true selves in the context of real-life.
Upon entering the meditative state, a swarm of thoughts and feelings, ranging from good to bad to abstract, flood our consciousness. Occasionally, we encounter irrelevant thoughts, unsure of their past or future occurrence, with an underlying understanding that they may never materialize. Despite this awareness, these thoughts persist, causing disturbance. We also find ourselves contemplating noble ideas, contemplating the feasibility and timing of their realization. Thus, a continuous stream of thoughts flows through our minds during meditation.
In the majority of cases, we perceive ourselves as right and others as wrong. However, through meditation, we gain insight into our authentic thoughts, genuine perspectives, and our true nature.
Positive, authentic, and genuine thoughts towards others contribute to their goodness, effectiveness, and improvement. Conversely, if we mistakenly harbor negative thoughts about someone, it’s crucial not to delude ourselves into thinking that we are any better. Our true nature is reflected in our thoughts, as our constant contemplation shapes the actions we prefer to engage in.
However, there are instances when external factors such as fear, social restrictions, or the apprehension of punishment hinder us from engaging in actions we genuinely desire. It’s important to recognize these external constraints as distinct from our inherent nature.
In truth, our desires align with our thoughts, and ultimately, we tend to experience what we consistently contemplate. This is why, through meditation, we gain initial insights into our true selves and understand our authentic nature.
Once we realize that our own thoughts may not always be positive, the natural inclination is to correct them. For example, consider a scenario where we visit a temple to pray, asking God to bring harm to our enemies, essentially wishing for their demise.

In this situation, it is crucial to reconsider our thoughts. While someone may have behaved poorly towards us or caused us trouble, it is not within our purview to judge their actions. They are responsible for their conduct. Responding with negative thoughts, such as wishing for their death, is a wrongful act, as it allows negativity to infiltrate our own minds.
Through meditation, we gain a profound understanding of our true selves. As we recognize our shortcomings and areas where we are mistaken, a gradual process of self-correction ensues. By rectifying ourselves, we pave the way for what is good and beneficial to manifest in our lives. Following this introspection, when we meditate with a focused approach, delving into the teachings of revered figures like Darveshs, Mahatmas, Saints, and Fakirs, we embark on the next level of meditation.

PART 2
WHY MEDITATE?
The question that arises is: Why should we practice meditation?
Let’s begin by steering our attention to the term “Meditation” (Dhyan). To meditate involves contemplation, examination, study, and observation. It reuires focusing on our authentic inner self, emphasizing the importance of proceeding with mindfulness and careful consideration.
Similar to any other task that demands careful attention, we should extend the same level of care to ourselves. Just as we are advised to be cautious before undertaking any task, ensuring that we handle things with care and avoid any mishaps, we should approach our own well-being with thoughtful consideration.
Meditation involves focusing on someone we trust, have faith in, and hold in high regard.
Every individual desires peace, comfort, and prosperity, experiences that bring joy both on Earth and in the presence of the beloved Lord.
We should sit with closed eyes and focus on the image, Murti of the revered personality and meditate on that.
The reason for meditation lies in its inherent potent capabilities. Those who engage in meditation on a revered personality absorb and inherit all the qualities, characteristics, and powers of that influential figure, gradually transforming into a reflection of them.
During moments of relaxation, recalling a virtuous individual, be it a saint or a Darvesh, often sparks positive thoughts. This reflection prompts a desire to engage in benevolent actions, to be kind to others, ultimately leading to a transformative and fulfilling life. Such contemplation tends to evoke a stream of uplifting and positive thoughts.
The influence of our thoughts becomes evident when recalling a negative individual triggers thoughts of wrongdoing, deceit, and disturbing thoughts. Conversely, remembering a virtuous person prompts positive actions and transforms our mindset. This underscores the potency of our thoughts: thinking of the beloved Lord, our Satguru, or a deeply revered Saint with love in our hearts and a tranquil mind can lead to a profound transformation in our lives.

Meditation serves as the initial catalyst in reshaping, training, and refining our thought processes. By anchoring our minds in virtuous thoughts, we begin to experience an influx of positive and improved thoughts. The practice allows us to attain a state of peace and calmness while simultaneously dispelling negative thoughts from our minds. Consequently, our mental space becomes enriched with righteous and uplifting thoughts, nurturing inner peace and purity within ourselves.
Once our mind attains a state of purity, our soul, inner self, and consciousness also become clear and untainted. The mind, in turn, achieves a state of tranquility, calmness, and stability. In this serene state, negative thoughts cease to arise, paving the way for a gradual and peaceful progress in our lives. The essence of meditation lies in caring for ourselves, freeing our minds from negativity, and allowing positive thoughts to flourish, enabling us to thrive in a more meaningful and fulfilling manner.
Maintaining an entirely positive mindset leads to satisfaction in our future endeavors, ultimately driving us towards a state of bliss. Through the continual calming of our minds with virtuous and righteous thoughts, we gradually attain a higher state of eternal bliss. By dedicating all our deeds, both good and bad, at the Lotus feet of SATGURU and the beloved Lord, we reach this elevated state of Eternal joy and contentment.

PART 3
HOW TO MEDITATE?

The next inquiry is, how does one engage in meditation?

Before delving into the mechanics of meditation, it is crucial to understand the reasons behind why we should meditate.
The question of “why” meditation arises from seeking to understand the purpose and significance behind engaging in this practice.
The reason lies in the fact that during meditation, various types of thoughts arise.
At times, we meditate with the intention of enhancing our thoughts, achieving a sense of oneness, improving our true selves, and promoting good health.
Now, the question is: How should we go about it?
To begin with, it’s essential to make ourselves comfortable, adopting a posture that suits us best for meditation. Whether sitting in a chair or on the floor, choose a position that is comfortable, and you can also use specific hand gestures (Mudra) to enhance the meditation experience.
As we embark on meditation, drawing closer to the beloved Lord, it is advisable to sit with our eyes gently closed. Additionally, wearing simple, soft, and comfortable clothing contributes to creating a conducive environment for meditation.
Select a comfortable seated position, preferably crossed-legged or any other posture that suits you, allowing for natural and gentle breathing. Clasp your hands together by interlacing your fingers and rest them in your lap. As we sit in meditation with our eyes gently closed, our focus naturally gravitates towards the center point between our eyebrows. This is the region associated with thoughts, concentration, visualization, and contemplation during the meditative practice.
This focal point, situated between our eyebrows, serves as the seat of our intelligence, wisdom, and understanding. It represents the powerhouse of our thoughts and concentration during meditation.

It’s a common observation that when engaged in a task, such as writing, if we happen to forget a figure, a name, or any detail, we instinctively pause and start tapping the back of our pen on our head. This tapping serves as a method to activate our mind and enhance concentration.

Interestingly, when we engage in this tapping action, the pen naturally gravitates toward our forehead, specifically the point between our eyebrows. This subconscious movement aligns with the center point associated with our powerful thoughts during meditation.
Indeed, the act of tapping the pen on the forehead, activating the center point between the eyebrows, serves to rekindle and activate our powerful thoughts. This activation aids in recollecting the forgotten information, allowing us to proceed and resume our writing or any other task that was momentarily halted.

In instances where we face difficulty in executing a task despite concerted efforts, a breakthrough often occurs when someone provides a hint or clue. At that moment, we instinctively tap our head, expressing a realization that our memory and cognitive functions could have been better utilized.
Indeed, the center point between the eyebrows emerges as the nucleus of our powerful thoughts and intelligence. It is for this reason that during meditation, we direct our focus to this pivotal point, praying to God for blessings of love, grace, mercy, and benevolence. When our thoughts are righteous, our actions naturally align with righteousness.
Positive and good thoughts invariably guide us towards performing good, truthful, and honest deeds. Conversely, if we find ourselves surrounded by a negative and wicked atmosphere, harboring sinful thoughts, we are prone to move in the wrong direction and engage in wrongful deeds, regardless of the external environment.
By concentrating on the point between the two eyebrows, which serves as the seat of powerful thoughts and the master within, we anchor our consciousness.
This is precisely why it is referred to as the “Shiv Netra” (Eye of Shiva)

SHIV

‘SHIV MEANS WELFARE’
‘SHIV MEANS COMFORT’
‘SHIV MEANS BLISS’

Certainly, the activation or awakening of the point between the eyebrows can lead to a transformative effect on our life, bringing about a sense of profound peace and tranquility.

When our intelligence and wisdom are in operation, every action we undertake becomes a blissful endeavor, contributing to the purity and piety of our entire life.

This is precisely why the focus is centered on the point between the eyebrows, as it represents the spiritual locus of our powerful thoughts.
A focus on the point between the eyebrows, the seat of the master or Guru, is emphasized because when our thoughts and understanding are virtuous, everything in our life becomes blissful.
Following the focus, we engage in contemplation, chanting, and recitation of the pious name of God. The sacred name of the Beloved Lord holds immense power.
A single word, of NAAM, infused with infinite blessings and grace, has the transformative power to illuminate our inner selves. It renders us refined and pure, leaving an indelible impact not only in this lifetime but even in the divine presence.
In our meditation, we breathe in the sacred name of the beloved Lord with every breath. After contemplation, we engage in chanting the holy Naam, , drawing blessings and grace with each inhalation.
We breathe in the sacred name of the beloved Lord, a divine initiation bestowed upon us by our Satguru, with every breath. Following contemplation, we commence chanting the consecrated name given by our Satguru, filling each breath with his blessings and grace.

We should constantly bear in mind that as we require breath to sustain life, it is essential to dedicate full attention to each and every inhalation and exhalation. Engaging in contemplation, we then proceed to chant the sacred name of the Lord with every breath. By maintaining a mindful awareness of our breaths, we will observe a shift towards a normal and soothing breathing rhythm.

We will observe that our breath aligns with our behavior.
For instance, when we are at home, in our office, at our shop, or with our friends and relatives, we always maintain proper attire and disciplined behavior. However, if we retreat to our private space, where no one is observing, we may adopt a careless posture, neglecting even to remove our shoes, and casually arranging things in the room. We might not pay much attention to ourselves. However, the moment someone enters the room, we become self-aware, adjust our posture, and give full attention to ourselves.

Similarly, during meditation, chanting the Lord’s name, or engaging in prayanams, it is crucial to observe, pay attention and regulate our breath. Smooth and controlled breathing is Essential during meditation, as it ensures adequate oxygen supply to the brain. Proper oxygenation facilitates optimal brain function, leading to the dissolution of blood clots and promoting efficient blood circulation throughout the body. With improved blood circulation, the heart functions optimally, reducing the risk of heart attacks. Additionally, proper oxygen supply aids kidney function, supporting the purification of blood, while the liver operates effectively. By prioritizing proper breathing, we contribute to the optimal functioning of the heart, brain, kidneys, liver, and effectively prevent around 70% of diseases in our body.
Each proper breath contributes to good health and a healthy life, containing infinite power within. When coupled with chanting and continuous repetition (jaap) of the sacred name of the beloved Lord with every breath, along with contemplation on the beloved Satguru, our profound inner powers are awakened. This internal transformation leads us to purity and piety, not only in this world but also in the divine presence. To reach our goals, unwavering faith is essential.
Our ultimate objective is meditation, while our unwavering conviction lies in the chanting of the beloved Lord’s name.
With the unshakable foundation of meditation and the steadfast belief in chanting the beloved Lord’s name, we become invincible, persisting until we reach our ultimate destination—the beloved Lord, the creator, the Almighty. The contemplation shifts towards considerations of how and where to find a suitable place for meditation.
The crucial aspect is to sit, and it can be done anywhere.
Sitting and facing towards the east provides beneficial rays that are soothing, bring peace, and enhance overall comfort during meditation.
To meditate effectively, it’s important to sit in a comfortable posture with a calm mind. While meditating, clasping our hands and interlocking our fingers can enhance the experience.

Clasping hands signifies sitting with a single-minded focus and a calm mind, accompanied by gently closing our eyes.It is crucial not to let any thought disturb us as we sit quietly for a while. Gradually, our mind becomes calm, and we can start breathing very slowly while chanting the pious name of God with every breath. As we sit calmly, our mind attains a peaceful state, and our breathing becomes smooth. Reciting God’s name with every breath serves as a preparation for meditation, easing the process without any difficulty.
If troubling thoughts persist, playing Dhuni Sahib or any other bhajan at a low volume may help. However, it is generally beneficial to avoid any external sounds and instead focus in silence. The ability to concentrate and recall the beloved Lord is enhanced when we quietly focus in complete silence.
When feeling uneasy or unable to sit comfortably with difficulty in concentration, it is beneficial to remember God and pray for blessings, strength, and awareness. By seeking tranquility at the lotus feet of God, the focus should be solely on Him. Every moment in meditation should be devoted to remembering the beloved Lord, ensuring that no other thoughts enter the mind.
If persistent thoughts continue even after sitting comfortably, it’s advisable not to forcefully try to eliminate them. Instead, allow them to enter the mind, recognizing them as constant companions that are present almost 23 hours a day. Rather than immediate elimination, kindly request these thoughts to cooperate for an hour, being silent or excusing us for half an hour in the evening and morning. Politely communicate that this time is dedicated to our Satguru/ Ishwar, and if possible, they can join us. Through such loving requests, it becomes possible to concentrate peacefully.Making such gentle requests to our thoughts, we may observe that even if they don’t depart, they tend to silently watch as we engage in meditation. This approach contributes to our prosperity in life.
We should express gratitude to the Almighty for providing us the opportunity to sit in meditation, accepting us under His shelter, and taking care of us. It is important to be thankful to the Lord for His support and pray for His blessings to enable us to take care of ourselves, seeking His continuous protection.

PART 4
WHEN TO MEDITATE?

Now, let us ponder upon the optimal timing for our meditation practice.

To determine the most suitable time for meditation, it is essential to engage in introspection. We meditate with the intention of attaining peace, tranquility, contentment, and elevating our level of conscious awareness. Therefore, a thoughtful self-reflection becomes the foundation for identifying the ideal moments for our meditation practice.
Now, let’s consider when we truly experience peace and under what circumstances it unfolds. If we observe the entire day, we realise that during the early morning hours, often referred to as ‘Amrit Vella’ between 4 and 5 am, a profound stillness and calmness pervade the atmosphere. Everywhere, there is a prevailing silence, and upon closer observation, we can sense a profound serenity and tranquility within ourselves as well.

Hence, there exists a sense of peace both within and outside ourselves.
At the onset of the day, the environment is filled with noise and commotion as we initiate our daily activities, commence our tasks, and contend with various thoughts that occupy our minds. However, as the evening approaches, a noticeable shift occurs. The surroundings become tranquil and serene, offering a sense of complete calmness. During these moments, we often find inner peace within ourselves. Conversely, when night falls, restlessness sets in, accompanied by drowsiness and a cascade of thoughts engulfing our minds.
The moments of profound peace during the morning and evening are truly blissful, spectacular, and divine. These sacred and joyous moments unfold during the divine union of day and night.

As the day begins its approach and the night starts to recede, they converge on a single plane, at one level, creating miraculous moments of bliss. During these instances, there is a profound experience of complete peace, stillness, and calmness.
After these brief moments of divine togetherness, the night and day gradually part ways, and once more, the environment becomes filled with noise.
Consequently, the moments when day and night unite – occurring twice daily – stand out as significant periods of pure peace and calmness. In contrast, when they are apart, noise and disturbance prevail throughout.

From this understanding, it becomes clear that we will continue to undergo various experiences – pain, joy, happiness, sadness, occasional frustration, and intermittent moments of peace – as long as our individual soul (Atma) remains separate from the universal soul (Parmatma). However, when our individual soul (Atma) merges with the universal soul (Parmatma), we attain genuine divine peace and true happiness that permeate our inner being, the external world, and every aspect of existence.
These moments of unity between the individual and universal soul are the most suitable for meditation. In these divine and serene instances, we can center our attention on chanting the sacred name of the beloved Lord without any distractions. It allows us to sit peacefully and concentrate with a single-minded focus.

Hence, every day serves as a lesson that as long as we perceive the separation between our inner soul (Atma) and the Divine (Paramatma), we will encounter a fluctuation of emotions – grief and happiness, laziness and sadness, joy and frustration. This cycle persists only until the union of Atma and Paramatma is achieved. The unity of Atma and Paramatma brings forth eternal divine peace within us.Every day, we have the privilege of witnessing the divine union of morning and evening twice, and the atmosphere during those blissful moments aids us in our meditation. We experience absolute tranquility within ourselves.

In that blissful state, when we engage in meditation, concentration flows effortlessly, and our focus remains undivided, leaving a marvelous impact on us. During those distinctive moments of the union of day and night, we can meditate with a calm and peaceful mind.
If concentration proves elusive during meditation, there’s no need for agitation; simply relax for a while and consider postponing it to another time. However, it is imperative not to overlook meditation, as it holds a compulsory place in our practice.
If it’s not feasible to meditate in the morning and evening due to work commitments, shopping, or other engagements, one can choose a time when free and sit for meditation. It’s crucial not to neglect meditation and allocate dedicated time for it, even if it means adjusting the schedule to accommodate this essential practice.
Setting a specific time for meditation is imperative. Whether in the morning or evening, selecting a fixed time for meditation is crucial.
As humans, we tend to neglect noble, spiritual, and religious duties unless they are integrated into our daily routine.
We may observe that no matter how late we sleep at night, when it comes to getting our children ready for school in the morning, we manage to wake up on time. We ensure they are prepared, pack their lunch boxes, get ourselves ready promptly, and grab our keys for work. We also make time for breakfast, making an effort not to forget anything.

While we meticulously attend to various aspects of our morning routine, what we may not accord the same level of importance to is visiting the temple, especially if it means getting delayed. We tend to fulfill all our other responsibilities but often find excuses to neglect our daily prayers or visiting the temple.
This emphasizes the importance of incorporating meditation into our daily routine at a specific and fixed time.
Meditation should not be perceived as a grand undertaking, but rather as a simple and natural act, seamlessly integrated into our daily routine.

Meditation and the chanting of the beloved God’s name are profoundly beautiful practices that offer solace not only in this world but also at the sacred feet of the beloved God. Maintaining a connection with the chanting of the pious name and incorporating meditation into our daily routine is highly beneficial. Once we cultivate the habit of meditating at a fixed time every day, the deep urge to engage in meditation will naturally arise, leading us to practice it consistently, making it an ingrained habit.

When we fail to designate a specific time for meditation, we tend to make excuses and continually postpone it. It is essential to integrate meditation into our daily routine just as we do with our meals. The habitual nature of eating at a fixed time each day is a good example; we automatically feel the urge to eat at that scheduled time. Even if we are not hungry at other times, the regular mealtime prompts our hunger. Similarly, during fasting, when we deviate from our usual eating routine, we might find that our hunger diminishes, and the desire to eat dissipates because we didn’t adhere to our customary schedule. This discrepancy occurs during fasting and is not a daily occurrence when we stick to our normal routine of eating at a fixed time.
Consider a situation where we intend to drive somewhere in a car but realize there’s no petrol; it becomes clear that we cannot drive the car without fuel. Similarly, when it comes to our meals, the routine prompts our hunger, not the actual need for sustenance. If we miss a meal at the usual time, our hunger should theoretically increase, but it often decreases, and we may not feel like eating later because we deviated from our regular eating time.

Likewise, incorporating meditation into our daily routine ensures that we stay connected to this practice. By establishing a fixed time for meditation, we cultivate a habit that becomes ingrained in our routine. Just as we prioritize refueling the car for a journey, integrating meditation into our daily life becomes a consistent and essential part of our well-being.
Avoid viewing meditation as an overwhelming or grand undertaking. Once seamlessly incorporated into our daily routine, it transforms into a simple and habitual practice. By staying connected to meditation daily, much like any other routine activity, it becomes an integral part of our lifestyle that we do not neglect.Just as we ensure our children are prepared for school and get ready for work on time, incorporating meditation into our daily routine requires a similar commitment. When we conscientiously include meditation in our schedule, it becomes a transformative practice, guiding us on the path of truth and personal progress.

Consistent meditation, regardless of the time or location, is essential for our progress through the pursuit of good deeds. If morning and evening meditation proves challenging, one can practice it at an alternate time and place, emphasizing the importance of doing so daily at the chosen fixed time. This commitment to regular meditation paves the way for spiritual growth and leads us to the heights of eternity. Hence, fixing a specific time for meditation is imperative.

PART 5
WHERE SHOULD WE MEDITATE?

Although meditation can be practiced anywhere, it is beneficial to designate a specific place for it, especially when at home. Having a dedicated meditation space helps create a consistent and conducive environment for the practice.
If there is a temple in our house, it is advisable to meditate in the temple. Alternatively, if a temple is not present, we should designate another quiet and suitable place within the house for our meditation practice.
As we understand, just as every living being possesses its own destiny, likewise, every place also holds its unique energy or fortune.

The reason for meditating at a specific place is to infuse it with purity, piety, divinity, auspiciousness, and prosperity.
We may observe that upon acquiring a new house, property, shop, or plot, there are instances where we experience good fortune, substantial profits, and overall benefits. Conversely, there are times when such acquisitions lead to setbacks and hinder our progress. The fortunes, whether positive or negative, hinge upon the sanctity and purity of that specific location.
The destiny of individuals, whether favorable or unfavorable, is contingent upon their virtuous or harmful actions. Similarly, the fortune of a location is shaped by the nature of activities conducted there. It follows the principle of cause and effect, where the actions at a place determine whether it attracts good or bad luck.
When virtuous actions such as meditation, chanting the beloved God’s name, and engaging in prayers are performed at a specific place, they bestow good fortune and luck upon that location. Conversely, if unethical or harmful deeds are conducted at a particular place, it becomes ill-fated and attracts bad luck.

Consistent meditation and chanting the pious name of the beloved Lord at a dedicated spot in our house contribute to the purification and sanctification of our inner self. Regular practice instills a sense of fullness with the divine presence of our SATGURU/Beloved Lord. The place of meditation is also imbued with purity and sanctity through the continuous recitation of the sacred name of the Beloved Lord with every breath, creating a harmonious and spiritually charged environment. The sacredness, purity, and peace cultivated during meditation also permeate the surrounding atmosphere, transforming it into a space that is pure, pious, divine, and peaceful. When we establish a fixed place for meditation at home, engaging in the practice of inhaling and exhaling while chanting the pious Name of the Lord with every breath, that designated spot transforms into a focal point for peace, calmness, and prosperity, attracting good luck and blessings. The divine aura generated at the center of meditation radiates outward, enveloping the entire house. Consequently, the entire home becomes a sanctuary of bliss, love, and prosperity. It is advisable to maintain a consistent place for meditation at home and not frequently change it. However, when outside, meditation can be practiced anywhere as needed.
If feasible, it is beneficial for all family members to participate in daily meditation sessions at home. This collective practice fosters a sense of happiness and prosperity within the household.
At times, meditating collectively in a temple or at a sacred place (dham) with fellow devotees can be enriching. The collective purity and piety of everyone’s thoughts create a positive impact that benefits all participants. Additionally, the purity experienced at the temple extends within us, and as we bring it back to our homes, the positive aura purifies our living space. Whether at home or in the city, the practice of meditation is encouraged for its positive influence on our well-being.
Sometimes, during travel, illness, or when we find ourselves in an environment unsuitable for meditation, regardless of our posture or state—sitting, standing, awake, or asleep, with open or closed eyes—our minds have the ability to conjure images of friends, relatives, or anyone we think of at that moment.
During such moments, rather than dwelling on thoughts of others, it is beneficial to direct our focus towards our Satguru. With every breath, chanting the pious name of the beloved God within, we can continue to progress and experience personal growth.During travel, when it’s necessary to remain vigilant with open eyes to safeguard our belongings, we can still remember our Satguru and chant the pious name of the beloved Lord. However, when at home, it is advisable to maintain a daily meditation practice at a fixed place. Whenever feasible, meditating together as a family or group is also encouraged.Meditating in the temple allows the blessings from the sacred space to permeate our home. However, even when outside, whether with open or closed eyes, it is important to engage in meditation. Regular chanting of the pious name of the beloved Lord provides solace both in our immediate surroundings and in the presence of the Almighty. Therefore, meditation is deemed compulsory, and it is essential to engage in it daily. Through meditation, we offer prayers to God, seeking His blessings, protection, and grace, which are bestowed upon us in this sacred practice.

PART 6.
BENEFITS OF MEDITATION

What re the benefits of meditation?
What is the reason for our endeavour to learn and practice meditation with utmost precision and effectiveness?
What advantages can one expect from engaging in meditation?

We are all familiar with the saying, ‘As you sow, so shall you reap.
Indeed, meditation can be seen as the seed of our actions and deeds.
Our actions are shaped by our thoughts; what we do is a reflection of what we think.
Hence, through meditation, our thoughts are initially purified as we engage in introspection to filter and refine them.
In the initial stages of meditation, our thoughts undergo purification, leading to an inner sense of purity. As our thoughts become pure, an internal peace descends upon us, and we attain a state of tranquillity. Frustration and irritation dissipate. When inner peace is achieved, our overall life improves. In both wakefulness and sleep, we find ourselves in a state of peace, facilitating restful sleep. With peaceful thoughts and a serene life, negative thoughts are replaced by positive ones.
The deeds of individuals are mirrors reflecting their thoughts. Character is moulded by actions, as thoughts manifest into deeds. This concept is encapsulated in the phrase ‘you are what you think.
The consequences of an individual’s actions are determined by his own character. Our life is essentially a mirror reflecting our thoughts. Each person faces the outcomes of his deeds. When our thoughts align with goodness, our actions follow suit, leading to happiness and prosperity in this world. In essence, our life improves as a result of our virtuous actions and deeds.
When we conscientiously engage in positive actions, we reap favourable outcomes. Our inner self attains purity, piety, and enlightenment, allowing us to lead a dignified life in this world.
Through mindful and attentive meditation, we establish the presence of our Satguru, our beloved Lord, deep within ourselves. The blessings of comfort and bliss are bestowed upon us as a result of our virtuous deeds and the chanting of the pious name of our beloved Lord. Meditation serves as the key unlocking the doors to the divine, leading to an enhancement of our life both in this world and in the heavenly realms.
True contentment and peace can be attained by cultivating inner improvement through refining our thoughts. By achieving a sense of Oneness, we continuously receive divine bliss, enjoying the eternal serenity of life. Happiness and respect become inherent, both in our earthly existence and in the divine presence. Through meditation, we open the doors to receive the blessings and grace of the beloved Lord, transforming both our worldly and spiritual realms into heavenly abodes. In prayer, we humbly request that God keeps us under His loving and guiding shelter, continuously showering His grace and blessings upon us.

PART 7

COME, LET’S MEDITATE.
Now, let us collectively engage in SACHO DHYAN, and in the course of meditation, strive to achieve success in our lives by attaining Oneness with Satguru Sai Satramdas Saheb and the beloved Lord.

Sacho Satram.
