On the 14th of February, Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib traveled to Rohri to attend the Mela Sahib of Sant Sai Vasan Shah Sahib. Upon his arrival, he was greeted with a warm welcome and offered a higher seat of honor, a sign of the high esteem and respect he commanded among his fellow saints and devotees.
Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib received numerous requests from the Rohri Panchayat, local people, temple devotees, and family members to pray for Amar das Sahib, the son of Sant Sai Vasan Shah Sahib, during the Mela Sahib. Everyone was hopeful that Sant Sai Satramdas’ blessings and prayers would result in Amar das being blessed with a healthy child. The Shehenshah Satguru lovingly agreed to their requests.Amar das was the designated successor of his father at the Darbar Sahib.
Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib, dressed in a long and elegant red robe, and adorned with ghunghuroos on his pious feet, was ready to lead the devotional bhakti along with the devoted bhajan singers.
Before beginning the devotional program, Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib requested everyone present to recite shlokas. All joined in chanting the sacred verses, but when it was Amar das’s turn, he confessed that he had never recited shlokas before in any bhakti program.
In response, Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib said with great love, “Dear brother, the number of shlokas you recite today will determine the number of children you will be blessed with. So, tell me, how many children do you want?”
With great devotion and under the influence of Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib’s divine words, Amar das Sahib chanted three shlokas during the early morning hours.
When Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib suggested that he could continue chanting more shlokas, Amardas humbly folded his hands and sought the blessings of Sant Satramdas Sahib instead.
Amar Das received numerous well wishes from everyone, as they were aware of the immense power of Shehenshah Sai Satramdas Sahib’s blessings. Seeing the joy and enthusiasm among the people, Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb smiled and informed Amardas Sahib that on the same occasion of Sant Sai Vasan Shah’s birth anniversary the following year, they would celebrate the Chhati (sixth day) of Amardas’s first son, and suggested that instead of serving Daal, they should arrange for Bhandara sahib (a communal meal) of Malpua’s (sweet soft pancakes).
The following year, on the same date as the birth anniversary of Sant Sai Vasan Shah, the Chhati (sixth day) of Bhai Amar Das’s son was celebrated, and he was named Chetandas by Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib. All the people present enjoyed the Bhandara Sahib of Malpuas (sweet soft pancakes).
Blessed by the divine prayers of Sant Satramdas, Amar Das was later blessed with two more sons, whom he named Bhai Gopaldas and Bhai Sukhramdas, after a few years.
