Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb found inner peace during his pilgrimage to Haridwar, where he allowed the sacred river Ganga to touch his feet. According to legend, the holy waters of Ganga can cleanse people of their sins when they bathe in them and offer their sins to her. She is blessed with the ability to absolve sins by touching the feet of Great Sants and Mahatmas
Sant Satram Das Saheb emphasized to his devotees the significance of Great Maa Ganga and other holy sites, and afterwards, he distributed clothing and food to the poor and needy. The recipients expressed their gratitude to Sant Satramdas for his kindness and blessings, and everyone partook in the prasad. Later that day, Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb sat with his devotees in a serene location, worshipping, chanting the name of the beloved lord, and meditating. At night, he went to worship on the banks of the sacred river Maa Ganga with some of his devoted followers. While Sant Satramdas was blessing those around him, he heard the cries of a distressed mother and child.During the peaceful Amrit vella, Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb dispatched Bhai Seetal das and Ramdev to inquire about the source of a mother and child’s distress and to offer assistance if needed. Additionally, Shehenshah Satguru requested his devotees to bring the mother and child to him for aid. Bhai Seetal das and Ramdev located the home of the distraught family and inquired about their tears on behalf of Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb. The woman who answered the door was informed that the messengers were sent by Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb and asked why she and her son were weeping.
Upon hearing the message, the woman trembled with fear and urged Bhai Seetal and Ramdev to leave. She apologized for disturbing Sant Sai Satramdas with her weeping and shared that her distress stemmed from her husband’s heinous act of disrupting a meditating sant. She expressed concern that her young, hungry son might fall under the curse of a great sant. The devotees relayed that Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb wished to meet her and offer his blessings. After meeting with Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb and requesting his forgiveness, the woman shared her story. She spoke of her once happy family, explaining that her egoistic husband had verbally abused a meditating sant and continued to do so despite the pleas of other sants.
After finishing his meditation, the Sant cursed the woman’s husband for his disrespectful behavior and foretold that his family would also face difficulties. Following the curse, the family’s fortunes quickly declined, leaving them destitute and unable to afford even a single meal. The woman’s husband eventually abandoned them, leaving her to collect wood and cow dung in the jungle to sell, but even that meager income was not enough to sustain them.
The woman recounted to Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb how her son became sick with fever and cried for a gold chain after seeing a rich boy wearing one while they were collecting wood in the jungle. She apologized for disturbing him during his meditation and asked for forgiveness for herself and her son.
Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb blessed the lady by placing a shawl on her head and assured her that her days of difficulties were over, and happiness and prosperity awaited her. He asked his devotee, Bhai Rano mal, to buy a gold chain for the child from the market. Bhai Karmon mal, another devotee present, informed Saijan that he had already bought a gold chain as an offering and hoped to seek blessings for his newly married son to have a child.
Bhai Karmon mal requested Sant Sai Satram Das Saheb to give the gold chain to the little boy. In response, Shahanshah Satguru blessed him, saying that his family will soon be filled with the happy sounds of a child. Suddenly, the Sant who had cursed the mother’s family appeared and did pranam to Sai Satramdas Sahib. He had a vision of a great Mahatma who could turn his curse into a blessing, and came to seek Saijan’s blessings. He realized that only a great Sant could forgive sins committed for many years and bestow Moksha upon the blessed one.
After giving toys to the child and prasad to the mother, Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb blessed them and assured that they would prosper and the child’s father would return home soon. The moment the child started dancing and ate the prasad, the waves of the holy river Ganga began to move, and Ganga appeared in the form of a Devi. She offered her respects to Sant Sai Satram Das Saheb and said that people came to take a holy dip in her waters to absolve their sins, and she was fortunate to have the divine darshan of such a great Sant who could relieve her of the sins of those who bathed in her holy waters. Ganga touched the lotus feet of Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib in reverence.
Sant Satram Das Saheb expressed his desire to have a divine darshan of Mata Ganga. Mata Ganga humbly replied that it was her privilege to have the great saint bless her. Sant Sai Satram Das Sahib invited Mata Ganga to bless the people at Raharki Sahib, and she gladly accepted. Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib blessed Mata Ganga and requested her to appear at Sant Satram Dham after he left his human form to merge with the Lord Almighty. After his passing, Ganga jal was used to purify the place where his samadhi was to be built. Sant Kanwarram Sahib, a true disciple of Sant Satram Das Sahib, prayed for the divine appearance of Maa Ganga.
After Sai Kanwaram Sahib prayed for Maa Ganga’s appearance, a miraculous milky white wave of Ganga appeared at Sant Satram Dham to purify the Samadhi Sahib of Sant Satramdas Sahib. Maa Ganga, also known as Keerti Ganga or Satram Sarovar, continues to bless those who visit Satram Dham. By taking a holy dip in Satram Sarovar with sincere intentions, people can rid themselves of sins and attain Moksha. Thus, Maa Ganga has kept the promise she made with Shahanshah Satguru Sai Satramdas Sahib.
