When all the devotees came together to construct the Samadhi Sahib of Shahanshah Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib, they discovered that the sacred waters of the river Ganga, which were necessary for purifying the site, were not readily available. Unfortunately, due to certain unforeseeable circumstances, it was not feasible to acquire the holy water of the Ganga in a short period of time.
Sant Kanwarram Sahib, holding the four-year-old Sain Meherdas Sahib, the beloved son of Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib, proclaimed, ‘This place is already sacred, as it was visited by the great Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib for the betterment and upliftment of humanity. The hearts of great Sants are always pure and kind, like the holy waters of the Ganga, which flow inside them and radiate automatically to the place where they reside.We tend to observe the world around us with our external eyes, but fail to explore our inner selves and look into our hearts. However, with genuine intentions, love, and kindness, delving deeper into our hearts can lead us to experience the pure love of our beloved Lord, which flows continuously within us. If we all strive to please the Lord with sincerity and purity of mind, the holy Ganga herself will flow within our hearts.’
After saying these words, Sant Kanwarram Sahib began to perform the Ardas Sahib, and during his prayer, a wave as pure as milk emerged at the site in Devri Sahib where the sacred Samadhi Sahib of Shahanshah Satguru was to be constructed. The flow of this holy wave, which stood at about 2 feet high, continued to cascade and those present were amazed by this divine miracle. Sant Kanwarram Sahib explained, ‘This wave is actually from the original holy Ganga, where our souls bathe after leaving our bodies. This sacred wave of the Ganga, whiter than milk, purifies itself by touching the holy feet of great Sants and Mahatmas. The yogis refer to it as Triveni.
Sant Kabir Das referred to it as Mansarovar, while the esteemed Baba Grunanak Dev called it Amritsar. Our great master taught us that this world is not our ultimate destination, so we mustn’t be enslaved by our ignorant minds and bodies. Rather, we should strive to illuminate our inner selves with the spiritual light of truth and dispel ignorance within us. Sant Kanwarram Sahib noted that the pure wave flowed within the heart of Shehenshah Satguru Sant Sai Satramdas, and that we too should aspire to be so pure that we can bathe in the Holy Ganga that flows within our hearts. This can be achieved only if we devoutly chant the divine name of the Almighty, and become like Him, ultimately merging with Him.’
Sant Kanwarram Sahib also noted that the pure wave of the sacred river Ganga would always flow in Raharki Sahib as Satram Sarovar, serving as a reminder of the message of Satguru Shehenshah Sai Satramdas Sahib. He explained that the pure wave of Ganga would first touch the sacred ashes of Sant Satramdas Sahib, and thereafter would continue to flow as Satram Sarovar in Raharki Sahib, where people could come and make their fortune by bathing in it.
Sant Kanwarram Sahib stated that the holy water of Ganga serves as a reminder that chanting the name of Satguru Sai is the key to merging with Him and reaching our true destiny where everyone is equal. He then requested Sai Meherdas Sahib to place the sacred ashes of Satguru Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib. Upon placement, the wave of holy Ganga flowed towards the ashes, touched them, flowed around Devri Sahib, and down to the Khui Sahib (Satram Sarovar). The holy flow of Ganga is still continuing to this day in Satram Sarovar to purify and liberate people from their negative karmic consequences.
