Hijayat Bai, a widow, approached Shahanshah Satguru Sai Satramdas Sahib with her request. She was in a poor state and wanted to arrange a proper feast for her daughter’s wedding. She told Saijan, “O Sacha Sai, I have lived a life attending functions of friends and relatives, now it’s my turn to host one for my daughter’s wedding. I have very little wheat flour, rice, and dal, and nothing else. Please bless me with enough provisions to feed the guests”.
Shehenshah Satguru, with great kindness and affection, gazed upon Hijayat Bai and said, “Return home and provide a feast for all your guests at your daughter’s wedding, and perform all the other customary duties. But keep in mind not to allow anyone to enter the room where you store the food and other supplies.” Hijayat Bai went home filled with joy and excitement, and proceeded to prepare for her daughter’s wedding by inviting everyone in her town to the celebration.Hijayat Bai placed all the food and other items for the wedding in a corner of her room. After some time, when she went to retrieve something from that room, she realized that she had forgotten to bring the sacred bed cover from Shahanshah Satguru Sai Satramdas Sahib for the Bhandara Sahib. The sacred bed cover is a special cloth given by the great saints of Raharki Sahib to cover the food served during auspicious occasions. When the food is covered with the sacred bed cover and a prayer is performed, it ensures that the food is never in short supply and can feed any number of people.
Hijayat Bai became a little worried when she realized that she had forgotten to bring the sacred bed cover from Shahanshah Satguru Sai Satram Saheb for the Bhandara Sahib at her daughter’s wedding. However, she immediately started chanting Saijan’s name and, in that moment, half of the roof overhang of her house fell like a sacred cover on the food that was kept for the wedding, without damaging it. Despite feeding all the guests, there was still plenty of food left. Hijayat Bai went to Raharki Sahib to thank the great Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib and expressed her regret for forgetting the sacred bed cover. The all-knowing Satguru smiled and told her that she remembered him and he made the roof overhang fall as a cover for the Bhandara Sahib. Hijayat Bai was overwhelmed with gratitude and fell at Saijan’s feet, praising his love and kindness.
