Child Dayaldas Sahib, the son of Sant Satramdas Sahib, was suffering from a severe fever and cough that had left him weak and frail. A young girl who used to come to play with child Dayaldas approached Sant Si Satramdas Sahib’s wife, Mata Suchet Devi, and told her that her mother had a soup recipe that could cure such illnesses. Being a loving mother, Mata Suchet Devi asked the woman to bring the soup for her son. The girl went to her mother, who prepared the soup using baby rabbit meat.
When the young girl along with her mother arrived at Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib’s house with the soup, they found him sitting with child Dayaldas in his lap, comforting him and surrounded by his other children. The atmosphere was filled with love and compassion.
As soon as Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib saw the covered vessel in the women’s hands, he knew what was inside and with a miracle, a live baby rabbit jumped out of the vessel. Everyone was shocked and realized the greatness of Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib and bowed down to him.
Shahanshah Satguru Sai SAtramdas Sahib explained that every living being has a soul within it, which is actually God, and that’s why all saints and holy people see God in every living being. Killing one living being to save another is not justice, but a crime. He said that humans are superior to other living beings only if they see God in others and treat all living beings with kindness and respect. He said that there is no difference between the soul of his son and a rabbit’s soul, and that both are equal in the eyes of God.
After this, he asked his wife to prepare his son for his final journey. Mata Sachet Devi, who was also an enlightened soul, got her son ready like a bridegroom and handed him to Saijan. Saint Satramdas Sahib smiled and said that those who sacrifice, attain the highest honor here and even at the Lord’s feet. He said that his son had no more duties to fulfill and could now go towards the Lord and achieve eternal Oneness.
Child Dayaldas, after taking the blessings of becoming immortal, smiled, and bowed down at the feet of Satguru Sai and attained Moksha. His mother, Mata Suchet Devi, said that one cries for the dead but not for the immortal and that her son had attained God and become immortal, and he will always be remembered by everyone. She said that no one cries for immortal souls.
