After Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib left this mortal world on his own accord, the responsibility to serve at Devri Sahib was taken up by Sant Kanwarram Sahib, who was a devoted, obedient, and sincere disciple of Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib. Bhagat Kanwar Ram Sahib was respected and highly revered by the people of Sindh.
His mellifluous voice was deeply touching, and he used it to sing in a magical and mystical way. People from far and wide would come to listen to his euphonious voice and offer him money and jewels as a token of their admiration. However, Sant Kanwar Ram Sahib never kept any of these offerings for himself. Instead, he immediately distributed all the money and other offerings among the poor and needy people who were present during his Bhakti keertans.
Sant Sai Kanwarram Sahib held great respect and reverence for his Guru, Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib, as well as for his Guruji’s children. He considered himself as a humble servant at his Guruji’s lotus feet and always remained devoted to him.
Despite being a highly spiritual and respected Sant, Sant Kanwarram Sahib did not aspire to take the position of his Guruji’s spiritual successor. He was content to serve at Devri Sahib as a devoted disciple due to his intense devotion to Shahanshah Satguru Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib. Sant Kanwarram Sahib was like how Hanuman was to Rama.
After the passing of Bhai Chandiram Sahib on December 21st, 1961, his younger brother Sant Babal Sai Bhagwandas Sahib took up the responsibility of taking care and serving the poor and needy at Sant Satram Dham (Devri Sahib) with selfless devotion.
Babal Bhagwandas Sahib left his mortal body on 31st of Aug 1981 after that his younger brother Sai Kanahiyalal Sahib, also very well known as Dulha Darvesh, dedicated himself to serving selflessly at Sant Satram Dham. He was a remarkable, insightful, and charismatic Sant, cherished by many as a rare gem.
Dulha Darvesh embodied simplicity and straightforwardness. He devoted himself to aiding the impoverished, distressed, grieving, and needy individuals who came to Devri Sahib, serving them with genuine love and care. People from all over the world hold a deep gratitude and indebtedness towards Sai Kanhaiyalal Sahib for his incredible foresight in ensuring the preservation and protection of the sanctity and holiness of Sant Satram Dham. He entrusted the responsibility of caring for the holy site in the responsible hands of Hazir SwaroopSai Sadhram Sahib
Sant Sai Kanhaiyalal Sahib dedicated himself to serving the poor and needy day and night. He possessed a captivating personality that left a lasting impression on all who met him. Whenever he sang Aarti Sahib in his soulful voice at Devri Sahib, he would become completely absorbed and forget about everything else, even his own self.
It is said that singing Aarti Sahib at Devri Sahib was of high priority to Sant Sai Kanhaiyalal Sahib, as it was a way for him to fully immerse himself in devotion. Once late Baba Hardasram Sahib of Jalgaon invited him to come to India. Sai Kanahiyalal replied, that he can go to India, only if he is able to return back to Devri Sahib every evening, for performing Aarti Sahib. Such was his devotion and respect for his Satguru, Sai Satramdas Sahib.
Sai Kanahiyalal Sahib, also known as Dulha Darvesh, was born on July 1st, 1931. He passed away on June 5th, 1990, becoming one with his Satguru. He was a highly active Sant, tirelessly serving the poor and needy day and night, and his magical personality touched the hearts of many.
